About SSPM/A

The South Sudan People's Movement/Army (SSPM/A) is driven by the vision of fundamental regime change to replace Salva Kiir’s oppressive, kleptocratic, corrupted, and tribalistic regime with a federal, democratic, just, and secular South Sudan. Our guiding principle is the liberation of the South Sudanese people from political repression, institutionalized corruption, economic hardship, gender-based violence, human rights abuses, entrenched tribal antipathy, social injustice, and extrajudicial killings.

The SSPM/A specifically addresses challenges faced by the South Sudanese people, including the lack of vision and rampant corruption of the current regime, widespread insecurity, and the failure to implement peace agreements. We advocate for economic diversification, environmental protection, and the establishment of the Hybrid Court of South Sudan (HCSS) to address war crimes and human rights violations. Our long-term goal is to build a viable, federal democratic state that embraces freedom, justice, dignity, and ethnic diversity.

Our methods of struggle include popular armed resistance, peaceful negotiation with conditions, and seeking unity with other armed groups. The SSPM/A aims to empower the people’s participation in democratic decision-making, implement full federalism, and ensure respect for basic human rights. We strive for criminal and financial accountability for past crimes, empowerment of South Sudanese women, and cooperation with international organizations to mobilize resources and support our cause.
